Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what personal information GEN1 collects through this website and its project enquiry form, how and why it is used, and the rights you have over your information under UK data protection law.

1. Who GEN1 is

GEN1 is an independent digital product design and development studio based in the United Kingdom. GEN1 designs and builds websites, client portals and bespoke software for health, fitness and wellness businesses.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, GEN1 is the “data controller” of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, you can contact GEN1 at info@gen1digital.co.uk.

2. Information collected through this website

When you use this website, GEN1 may collect:

  • Information you choose to submit through the project enquiry form, such as your name, email address, business name and details about your project.
  • Technical information about how you access the website, such as your IP address, browser type, device and pages visited (where analytics are enabled).

This website does not ask you to provide payment details, and it is not intended for children under the age of 16.

3. Information submitted through the enquiry form

When you complete the project enquiry form, you may be asked for your contact details and information about your business and the project you have in mind. This information is used to respond to your enquiry, understand your requirements and, if appropriate, prepare a proposal.

Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as health records) in your enquiry unless it is genuinely necessary and you have a lawful basis for sharing it.

4. How and why your information is used

GEN1 uses personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and communicate with you about potential projects.
  • Prepare proposals and agree project scope with you.
  • Deliver services where you become a client.
  • Understand how the website is used so it can be improved.
  • Meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.

GEN1 does not sell your personal information and does not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Lawful bases for processing

Under the UK GDPR, GEN1 relies on the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate interests — responding to your enquiries, running and improving the business, and keeping records of communications.
  • Contract — taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing a contract with you if you become a client.
  • Legal obligation — where GEN1 is required to retain or disclose information, for example for tax purposes.
  • Consent — where required, for example for any non-essential cookies or marketing communications you have agreed to.

6. Website analytics and cookies

This website does not currently use analytics tools or non-essential cookies. If this changes, details of any analytics tools and cookies in use will be described here, and your consent will be requested before any non-essential cookies are set.

7. Third-party services

This website and the enquiry process rely on a small number of third-party services to operate — currently website hosting and the enquiry form used for discovery call requests. These providers process information on GEN1’s behalf under their own terms and privacy notices.

8. How long information is kept

Enquiry information is kept for as long as needed to respond to you and, where a project follows, for the duration of the working relationship and for the period required by UK accounting and tax rules (normally up to six years after the end of the relationship). Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

9. Data security

GEN1 takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. Your data protection rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information held about you.
  • Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected.
  • Ask for your information to be deleted in certain circumstances.
  • Object to or restrict how your information is used in certain circumstances.
  • Request a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

11. Exercising your rights

To request information or exercise any of your rights, contact GEN1 at info@gen1digital.co.uk. Requests are normally responded to within one month, and you will not usually be charged a fee.

12. Contacting GEN1 about privacy

Questions about this policy or how your information is handled can be sent to info@gen1digital.co.uk.

13. Your right to complain

If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. GEN1 would welcome the chance to resolve your concerns directly first.
